Christmas 2018

Merry Christmas everyone.
I want to thank everyone once again for donating to get Maze his own stone. I'll be thinking of past Christmas Days I have spent with Maze. Here are more photos of Maze I was given by his friend, Alex. Thank you, Alex.

Directions to the grave of Maze Knowles. [Video]

It took much longer than I would have liked it to, but I now have a
video up on how to actually get to Maze's gravestone. I recorded myself
walking to his grave from the St.Francis Catholic Cemetery office
building, which is located at 78 Grove street in Waterville, Maine. If you follow this video, you can pay it a visit too. Maze
would have liked that.
Once again, from the very bottom
of my heart: Thank you so very much to every single person who donated
to the crowdfunding campaign to get Maze a gravestone. This would not
even exist if it were not for all of you helping us. We could never have
afforded it ourselves, and it was something that weighed heavily on my
mind, but you all banded together and gave us a helping hand. I don't
know what we would have done without you. I don't know how to show you
what a big thing it is that you did for my family. Thank you so much.

TDOR 2017

Last years transgender day of remembrance was a tough thing for me. At USM people put ribbons on a fence that was a fence around the community with the names of transgender folk who had had their lives cut short over the years. There was an event in Portland where different people took turns reading off the names of the same people were read aloud by volunteers. His death being so recent, Maze was not on either list. I made my own ribbon and left it on the fence at school a day later. This year I had not even remembered TDOR was happening, I've just been thinking about how his birthday will be soon.

If you feel like you may hurt yourself and you need someone to talk to, please call one of these numbers. There will always be someone who cares.

November the Third

Today is a day where I think many people will take the time to think back and remember good times they spent with Maze. It is also a sad time, and that is okay. It is okay to be sad. I think that Maze would want us to remember good times we had with him. I am thinking back on fun memories I shared with him when we were both small. One that comes to mind is a time we were using the snow tubes at Eaton Mountain and he crashed into me on his way down and he thought it was funny. Or one Christmas when we went to a big pot luck dinner and I got him to go talk to the Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus even though he thought he was much too old for it, and very nervous to talk to new people. But he overcame his nervousness and went and talked to them, which he ended up getting a good laugh out of.
These are memories I am fond of and am glad that I have them, and I hope that today you had a chance to think back on good memories of him too.

Why is this here?

Until I can find something better and because I assume Google will probably never shut down their Blogspot/Blogger service, I intend for it to be public, and it is free, I'll post this here.
As we come to the anniversary of his passing, I, Maze's older brother, hope to make this blogger account into a place to store what we have left of Maze Knowles, for public viewing. I want people who cared for him to always have a place where they can come and look through photos and videos of him at their own pace. This is something that will take a while and will be worked on in my spare time, when I am emotionally capable of doing so.
I would also like to be able to connect with people who may have known him and have any photos or videos of him. A great deal of any recent media of him we had would have been lost in the small fire he tried to start, so most of what we have of him was from when we was very small. Our family has zero videos of him from the last 4 years. So I'm looking to track down and find any people who have photos or videos of him on old phones, old memory cards, old cameras or old computers. I know a lot about computers, so even if you think something that has data of Maze on it is broken there is still a good chance that I may be able to retrieve it, and keep it safe forever, for us both to see.
Over time I'll fill this space with photos and videos of him, and I'll work out the best way for people to get in contact with me and work out the most easy way to get photo and video files to me. For the time being I'll place a few good, recent photos of him in this post.
Thank you for coming.
